Miko

Miko 3 is an AI companion robot that plays, engages, and teaches kids aged 5 to 12 through conversational learning. We redesigned the Miko parent app to go beyond simple device pairing.

The aim was to deepen engagement and personalisation so parents stay connected to their children's daily activities, with a seamless multi-user login for parents and grandparents, clearer progress tracking, and simpler navigation throughout the app.

Project goals

After a remote discovery workshop with stakeholders, we mapped the challenges parents faced with the existing app and set clear objectives around tracking, goal-setting, and navigation.

We defined personas, audited and restructured the information architecture, and aligned user journeys with the team before moving into wireframes. From there we built out typography, colour, iconography, and a bold, playful UI consistent with Miko's brand guidelines.

Result

We delivered a redesigned parent app with clearer hierarchy, simpler navigation, and a more engaging, personalised experience.

Progress reports make the skills a child learns through Miko easy to understand, and goal-setting is gamified with badges and streaks to help build habits. The result lowers cognitive load for parents and helps them reach their goals faster.
